HERE WE ARE! Women in Design. 1900 – Today

HERE WE ARE! Women in Design. 1900 – Today is an exhibition by Disseny Hub Barcelona in collaboration with the Vitra Design Museum, which highlights the key role played by women in the world of design since the beginning of the 20th century.

The exhibition, which can be seen from 5 October to 7 January, offers a critical study of the achievements and working conditions of women who have worked in the world of design from the beginning of the modern movement to the present day.

The exhibition also includes the research work carried out by the Museu del Disseny on the contribution of women designers in Catalonia from the 1960s onwards, which brings together 56 women designers who worked between 1960 and 1990, mainly in Barcelona, and includes 69 pieces in the section We were there too! 1960-1990. This research has been collected in the publication "Dones x Disseny x Dones".

In We were there too! 1960-1990 you can find the work of Toni Miserachs, linked to EINA from its beginnings as founder, director, patron and teacher; and by former students of the centre such as Mercedes Azúa, Gemma Bernal Rosell, Isabel Campi, Pepa Estrada, Beth Galí, Loni Geest (former teacher), Tone Høverstad, Tere Moral, Pati Núñez, Agnès Padrós Rossell, Maribel Querol Carrillo, Mireia Riera Simon, Teresa Tayà, Ana de Tord, Eugènia Vidal and Carme Vives.

Within the framework of the exhibition, a series of interviews, conferences and conversations with designers will take place, in which Anna Maio, former manager of EINA, will also participate.
